I was always attracted to the world of olives, particularly the tree itself, and the special sensations I experienced in an olive grove. As for the fruit, I only knew it is the round object at the bottom of a Martini glass. I also thought of olive oil as a fairly expensive liquid with a strong scent, needing careful packaging, that we drizzle onto food when we’re feeling extravagant. And I believed that green olives and black olives grew on different types of tree. Nor did I know how rewarding olive trees can be. I overcame all this ignorance with a lot of work and study, and now I can say that after many years my situation is much better, that is, I’ve already made all the possible mistakes.

Kedem Oil is a very high quality oil produced by farmstead 81 on Moshav Amikam, from organic olive groves in the nature reserve on Mount Horshan. We have several varieties: Barnea, Picual, Manzanillo and Syrian. We store the oil in special basement on our farmstead which is open to our guests. The basement is chilled to maintain the quality of the oil.
